What changed
The Welcomer has been rebuilt from scratch. Instead of one welcome message, it now has a path for each kind of member, so a returning member, a raid and your 1,000th member can all get something different. Everything is on one page with four tabs: Joins, Leaves, Boosts and Stats.
Set up a welcome
- Open Modules and click Welcomer, then press Enable.
- On the Joins tab, pick the channel your welcome goes to.
- Write your message.
{user}and{server}work, along with every other variable. - Under Anything else?, switch on a card, a DM or roles if you like.
- Save, then press Send me a test under the preview. The bot runs the path for you in your server, as if you had just joined (a test only sends messages and cards).
Paths for every kind of member
There are 23 paths across the three tabs. A few of them:
- Returning member: a different welcome for people who were here before, and their old roles back.
- Lots at once: one message for a whole group when a raid or a big wave joins.
- Suspicious account: catch brand new accounts or names with links, then quarantine, warn or kick.
- Milestone: celebrate your server's round numbers.
- Kicked and Banned: post who did it and why, straight from your audit log.
Paths under Run actions later wait until after the join: when they accept the rules, send their first message, or stay a few days.
Already using the old Welcomer?
It keeps working exactly as before, now listed as Welcomer (old). Open it and press Move my settings to bring your channels, messages, card and roles across in one click.
Good to know
- Free bots get the normal welcome, goodbye and boost thanks, with cards, DMs and roles, plus 2 extra paths on each tab and one message per path.
- Premium adds every path, up to 10 messages picked at random, different settings per server, and changing the Welcomer's events in the builder.
- Kicked and Banned need your bot to have the View Audit Log permission, and Joined via an invite needs Manage Server.
- The Welcomer is made of three normal events you can look at in the Command Builder. With Premium you can add your own blocks under any path.
