Discord vanity URL checker

Type the custom invite link you want for your server and see if another server already has it.

Lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes, up to 25 characters.

What a Discord vanity URL is

A vanity URL is an invite link with a name you pick, like discord.gg/botghost, where a normal invite has random letters. Discord calls it a Custom Invite Link. It doesn't expire and has no use limit, so servers put it in bios and video descriptions.

Setting one makes your server public, so anyone with the link can join. At least one text channel has to be visible to @everyone, or the link won't work.

Who can get a vanity URL

Servers at boost Level 3 can, and that takes 14 boosts. Once you're there, go to Server Settings, then Boost Perks, scroll to Custom Invite Link, type the name, and press Save Changes.

If boosts drop and the server falls below Level 3, it keeps the link for 30 days and then loses it. Discord can also take a link back if it's used for abuse or clashes with someone else's brand.

How the vanity URL checker works

A vanity URL is an invite like any other, so we ask Discord for the invite with your name as its code.

  1. 1

    Discord finds a server

The name's taken. You see which server has it, and whether it's a vanity URL or a normal invite that runs out later.

  2. 2

    Discord finds nothing

No server uses the name right now. Discord can still say no when you save it, and nobody can hold a name for you.

  3. 3

    Answers last 5 minutes

We keep each answer for 5 minutes, so a name that was freed a moment ago can still show as taken.

Vanity URL questions

For anything about a normal invite, the Discord invite checker has its own answers.

How many boosts does a Discord vanity URL need?
14. That takes a server to boost Level 3, which is where Discord adds the Custom Invite Link setting.
What can a vanity URL have in it?
Lowercase letters, numbers, and dashes, up to 25 characters. No spaces, underscores, or emoji.
What happens to my vanity URL if the server loses boosts?
You keep it for 30 days after the server drops below Level 3. After that the server loses it, and another server could take the name.
Does a vanity URL expire?
Not while the server stays at Level 3. It has no time limit and no use limit, unlike a normal invite.
The checker says a name is free. Is it mine?
Not yet. Nobody can hold a name for you, and Discord can still turn one down when you save it. Set it in Server Settings as soon as your server's at Level 3.
Is the vanity URL checker free?
Yes, with no sign in. You wait 5 seconds between checks, and an answer can be up to 5 minutes old.
