What Premium costs across your servers

MEE6 Premium is per server. BotGhost Single Bot Premium is per bot, and the bot can be in as many servers as you like.

MEE6 list prices from mee6.xyz/en/premium on 10 September 2026, before any limited-time discount. MEE6 also sells a $89.99 lifetime plan per server, which BotGhost does not offer; for a single server kept for many years it can cost less overall.

Your bot, not a shared one

The member list is what every one of your members sees. Here is the difference.

MEE6 is the same bot in every server that adds it. A custom name, avatar and activity are available through the Bot Personalizer add-on. On BotGhost the bot is a Discord application you create, so it has your name and avatar on the free plan and you own it outright.

Why servers look for a MEE6 alternative

Nothing here is a complaint about MEE6's quality. These are the points where its model, a shared bot priced per server, stops fitting some communities.

Premium is priced per server

MEE6 Premium is $11.99 a month, $49.99 a year or $89.99 for life, and each one covers a single server. That is reasonable for one community. It adds up quickly for anyone running a main server, a staff server and a test server.

BotGhost:Single Bot Premium is $10 a month for one bot in unlimited servers. Unlimited Bots is $20 a month for every bot you make, including future ones.

It is MEE6's bot in your server

Every server shares the same MEE6 identity in the member list. Giving it your own name, avatar and activity is the Bot Personalizer, a separate add-on. That is fine for many servers; it is odd for a community that has spent years building a brand.

BotGhost:Your bot is a Discord application you create, with your name and avatar from the first minute. Members see your bot, not ours.

Configuration, not building

MEE6's plugins are good at what they do, and each one is a settings page. The moment you want a command to check a role, ask a question with a form and store the answer, there is nowhere to build that. Custom commands are responses, not logic.

BotGhost:Commands and events are flows of blocks: conditions, loops, variables, buttons, select menus, forms and API requests. The ready-made modules are still there for the common jobs.

The free caps arrive early

MEE6's own plan comparison gives the free tier one timed message, no automations, no economy, no giveaways and no ticket transcripts. To be fair to MEE6, giveaways and social alerts are Premium on BotGhost as well.

BotGhost:Five timed messages, three custom events, economy, tickets and reaction role panels are all on the free plan, with no card required.

Top 5 MEE6 alternatives, ranked

Ranked on how much of MEE6 each one replaces, and whether the bot ends up being yours.

  1. BotGhost

    Full replacement, your own bot

Covers every MEE6 plugin most servers actually use, on a bot with your name and avatar. Leveling, moderation, welcome messages, reaction roles, tickets and economy are ready-made modules; anything MEE6 cannot do becomes a custom command or event in the visual builder.

    • Leveling, moderation, automod, welcome messages, reaction roles, tickets and economy free
    • Your own bot name, avatar and status on a Discord application you own
    • Custom slash commands and events built from blocks, not one-line responses
    • One Premium price ($10/mo) covers a bot in unlimited servers
    • Free 24/7 hosting, no card, no expiry
    Pricing
Free forever. Premium $10/mo for one bot ($5/mo billed yearly) or $20/mo for unlimited bots.
    Best for
Servers that want MEE6's features on a bot that is theirs, or that run more than one community.
  2. Dyno

    Moderation first

One of the oldest moderation bots on Discord and still one of the best at it: automod, mod logs, timed mutes and bans, auto roles and announcements, all configured from a dashboard. Leveling is only on its paid Standard tier, so on the free plan it replaces MEE6's moderation side rather than the whole bot.

    • Strong automod and moderation logging
    • Free tier with a Premium tier per server
    • Leveling only on the paid Standard tier
    Pricing
    Free, with Premium per server.
    Best for
Servers that mainly used MEE6 for moderation and want a dedicated tool.
  3. Carl-bot

    Reaction roles and utility

Famous for reaction roles and a generous free tier. Its tag system lets you write custom responses with a small scripting language, and it handles logging, automod and starboards well. There is no leveling.

    • Excellent reaction role and role menu setup
    • Custom responses through tags
    • No leveling or XP system
    Pricing
    Free, with Premium per server.
    Best for
Servers that used MEE6 for reaction roles and welcome messages and never touched leveling.
  4. Arcane

    Leveling specialist

A leveling bot first and everything else second. If the only reason you had MEE6 was the XP leaderboard and role rewards, Arcane does that job well and adds welcome messages and basic moderation around it.

    • Leveling with role rewards and leaderboards
    • Welcome messages and basic moderation
    • Narrower than MEE6 outside leveling
    Pricing
    Free, with Premium per server.
    Best for
Communities that want leveling and little else.
  5. ProBot

    All-in-one, similar shape to MEE6

The closest like-for-like: leveling with custom rank cards, welcome images, moderation, auto responders and an economy, configured from a dashboard. Same model as MEE6, so the same trade-offs on ownership apply.

    • Leveling, welcome images and moderation in one bot
    • Free tier with Premium per server
    • Shared bot identity, like MEE6
    Pricing
    Free, with Premium per server.
    Best for
Servers that want the MEE6 experience from a different bot without changing how they work.

Dyno, Carl-bot, Arcane and ProBot all change their plans from time to time, so their pricing is described in general terms. Check each site for current figures.

How to switch from MEE6 to BotGhost

Run both bots side by side, move one plugin at a time, and remove MEE6 when nothing depends on it.

  1. Create your bot

Sign in to BotGhost with Discord, create a Discord application with the name and avatar you want, and paste the token into BotGhost. Invite the bot to your server alongside MEE6 for now.

  2. Switch on the modules you used

Leveling, moderation and automod, welcome messages, reaction roles, tickets and economy are each a module with a settings page. Turn on the ones that replace the MEE6 plugins you had enabled and copy your settings across.

  3. Rebuild custom commands in the builder

Recreate each MEE6 custom command as a slash command. Simple responses take a minute; the ones you always wished could do more can now check roles, ask questions and store answers. The marketplace has ready-made commands to import too.

  4. Post new panels, then remove MEE6

Publish your new reaction role and ticket panels, announce the fresh leaderboard, and once members are using the new bot, kick MEE6 from the server. Nothing else changes for your members.

Member XP does not transfer between bots: MEE6 has no export and BotGhost has no MEE6 importer. Treat the new leaderboard as a new season and tell members before you switch.

BotGhost vs MEE6, in detail

A longer look for anyone weighing the two. Every MEE6 figure comes from MEE6's own premium page; everything about BotGhost can be checked on the free plan without a card.

Pricing: per server versus per bot

MEE6's premium page, checked on 10 September 2026, lists Premium at $11.99 a month, $49.99 a year or $89.99 once for a lifetime plan. Every subscription covers a single server, so a second community means a second subscription. MEE6 runs limited-time discounts on those prices from time to time, and offers a 7-day refund.

BotGhost's free plan has no expiry and needs no card. Premium is $10 a month, or $60 a year, for one bot, and that bot can be in unlimited servers. Unlimited Bots is $20 a month for every bot on your account, including ones you make later. Both come with a 7-day money-back guarantee.

In fairness: if you run exactly one server and plan to keep it for years, MEE6's lifetime plan is a genuinely good deal, and BotGhost does not offer one. The moment you run two servers, or want a bot with your own name on it, the comparison tips the other way.

Ownership: whose bot is in the member list

MEE6 is one bot, in more than 21 million servers by its own count. When you add it, your members see MEE6. A custom name, avatar and activity are available through the Bot Personalizer add-on, which the yearly and lifetime plans include.

On BotGhost you create the Discord application yourself, so the bot carries your name and avatar from the start, on the free plan. The one piece of BotGhost branding is the "Made with BotGhost" status text, which Premium removes. You also own the application: if you ever leave, the bot identity goes with you.

Configuring versus building

MEE6's strength is that every feature is a plugin with a settings page. Turn on leveling, pick a channel, done. BotGhost has the same kind of modules for the same jobs, and most people switching from MEE6 will spend their first hour entirely inside them.

The difference appears when a server wants something no plugin does: an application form that assigns a role when approved, a command that checks a member's level before answering, a weekly announcement built from a variable that members update. On MEE6 those are feature requests. On BotGhost they are commands and events built from blocks, with conditions, loops, variables, buttons, select menus, forms and an API Request block for any external service.

  • Ready-made modules for leveling, moderation, welcome, reaction roles, tickets, economy and more
  • A visual builder for slash commands with options, conditions, buttons, menus, forms and variables
  • An event builder that runs flows on joins, messages, reactions, role changes and dozens of other events
  • Marketplace commands and events you can import in one click

Leveling, and what happens to your leaderboard

Both bots give members XP for chatting, post level-up messages and keep a leaderboard. BotGhost lets you write the level-up message and set the XP rate on the free plan; a leaderboard without ads is Premium. MEE6 keeps its leveling extras on Premium.

The honest caveat is that XP does not move between bots. MEE6 has no export and BotGhost has no importer, so switching means a fresh leaderboard. Communities that do this well announce it as a new season and run both bots for a couple of weeks while the new board fills.

Moderation, alerts and giveaways

Moderation is free on both. BotGhost's Automod covers bad words, links, mass caps, mass emoji, mass mentions and server invites, with moderation logging and the usual warn, mute, kick and ban commands. Advanced logging of 42 event types is Premium.

Social alerts (YouTube uploads, Twitch going live, Reddit posts) and giveaways are Premium on BotGhost just as they are on MEE6, so neither side wins that row. The difference is that one BotGhost Premium covers them in every server your bot is in.

When MEE6 is the better fit

If you run one server, want zero setup, like the idea of a lifetime price, or specifically want the most-installed bot on Discord so new members already know its commands, MEE6 remains a sound choice. Its separate MEE6 AI product is also a reasonable way to get ChatGPT in a server without building anything.

If you run more than one server, want the bot to carry your community's name, or keep hitting the edge of what a settings page can do, BotGhost is the better fit. Most people searching for a MEE6 alternative are in that second group.
