Your bot can now have its own emojis. They belong to your bot itself rather than to a server, so it can use them in any server it's in, even ones that don't have the emoji. Until now that meant a trip to the Discord Developer Portal; now it's a tab on the new Servers & Emojis page.
Adding emojis
- Open Servers & Emojis in your dashboard sidebar and pick the Emojis tab.
- Press Upload emojis and choose one picture or several at once.
- Each one is named after its file (letters, numbers and underscores, 2 to 32 characters). Press Rename on a row to change it.
- Press Copy to copy its code, then paste it into a message, a button or a menu option.
Pictures can be PNG, JPEG, GIF, WEBP or AVIF, up to 256 KB each, and animated GIFs work too. A bot can have up to 2,000 emojis, and the counter at the top shows how many you've used.
Deleting
Delete asks again in place, with a short bar to cancel in time, and tells you what happens next: messages that already use the emoji show its name as text instead.
The new Servers tab
The Servers tab shows every server your bot is in with its icon, ID and whether your bot has Administrator there. Copy ID is on every row, Leave now asks for a second click, and Leave by ID covers servers past the first 200.
Closing forum posts
The new Close or Reopen a Forum Post block closes, reopens, locks or unlocks a forum post. Add Tags and Remove Tags on a Forum Post also get a Close or lock choice, so a single block can tag a post Resolved and close it.
Good to know
- Everything here is on every plan, free included.
- Collaborators with Edit bot profile can upload, rename and delete emojis; anyone who can see the bot's commands or events can view and copy them. Every change shows in the Collaborate activity log.
- Your existing tag blocks keep working exactly as before. Close or lock only does something when you pick it.
- Closing and locking posts the bot didn't make needs the Manage Threads permission.
