# Create a role ## Create a role Create a new Role in the server. You can choose the Role Name, Color, Position, whether or not to display (hoist) the role, and whether or not to allow everyone to @mention the role. {% hint style="warning" %} The bot must have Manage Roles permission in order to create a role. {% endhint %} ## Name The name of the new role you're creating.

## Reason An optional reason for creating the new role. This will show in Discord Audit Log.

## Position The position of the new role. Leave blank for default positioning. This goes from Down to Top.

## Color The color of this role. Members use the color of the highest role they have on the roles list. This is a HEX number.

## **Display role members separately from online members** Whether or not to hoist the role.

## Mentionable Allow anyone to @mention this role.

## Permissions Add Permissions for this role. The role will start with no default permissions.
